Holistic Student Success Platform
Welcome to ISSAQ!
What is ISSAQ?
ISSAQ is an approach to helping students better understand their strengths and challenges, while also helping your college or university support you in your journey.
Through our ISSAQ Student Survey, we ask questions about various behavioral, motivational, emotional, and social factors related to your success in college. We then use your results to give feedback and resources so you can better understand how to approach your college career. Results also help your school understand how to best support you and other students.
Survey results can be used in multiple ways. For example, individual results can be used in advising conversations. Aggregate results help schools understand broader issues and build better programs to support their students.
What's most important to know is that ISSAQ data will never be used to affect you negatively. They can't be used as part of an admissions decision or to get you into trouble in any way. Your survey results are solely designed to help improve your success.
What about my results?
Each school handles results differently.
In most cases, colleges and universities want you to first review your results with a coach or advisor, so you may not receive them until you meet with that person. If you'd like a copy of your results and don't know where to find them, just email us at info@issaq.net and we'll figure out how to get them to you.
One thing that is common among all schools is that no one has access to results who hasn't been properly trained on (a) how to keep those results secure and (b) how to interpret those results. We do not release your scores widely to faculty, staff, administrators, or parents.
Again, you can be confident that your information will be kept confidential.
What can I expect from the ISSAQ-SS?
-
The survey is quick - nearly all students complete the survey in less than 20 minutes.
-
The survey itself consists of statements (e.g., "I show up to almost all my classes"). All you have to do is select how much you agree with each statement.
-
There are no right or wrong answers. Simply answer honestly and to the best of your ability. When in doubt, your first response is usually the best one.
-
Your responses will be kept private and confidential.
Why do I have to take the ISSAQ-SS?
Colleges and universities use ISSAQ-SS data in lots of different ways, so the specific answer to that question will be up to the staff at your school. What we can say is this: these results can help you and lots of other students be more successful in college. Either through advising or coaching efforts, or through broader survey use like informing student success programs, your voice is important. The answers you give on the survey can certainly benefit you, but they can also help lots of students like you by giving your school an understanding of what matters to you and your success.
